Get Started with Cloud Communication
Before you send your first request, you need three things: test access, test cards and an API key.
1. Get a test Adyen merchant account
Send an email to posar@straumur.is. We create a test merchant account for you and send you access to Adyen's test Customer Area:
2. Get test cards
Ask for test cards in the same email. We send them to you. Use them on the test terminal; real cards do not work in the test environment.
3. Create an API key
- Log in to the test Customer Area.
- Go to Developers > API credentials.
- Select Create new credential and choose Web service user.
- Under Server settings > Authentication, select Generate API key.
- Copy the API key and store it somewhere safe. You can't see it again after you leave the page.
- Select Save changes.
note
If you can't create a credential, or your requests return 401 or 403, contact posar@straumur.is.
4. Find your terminal's POIID
Every request needs the ID of the terminal it's for (the POIID). It's the terminal model and serial number, for example S1F2-000158213601234.
Find it in the Customer Area under In-person payments > Terminals.
