Payments made through the /payment endpoint, with Pay with Token or Encrypted Card Data, get no receipt from Straumur by default. Send the cardholder's email address in shopperContact and Straumur emails them a receipt once the payment is authorised.

The receipt has the same content as the receipt sent from Hosted Checkout: merchant name, date and time, amount, card brand and masked card number, authorization code and the payment reference.

The field is optional. If you leave it out, no receipt is sent and the payment behaves exactly as before.

When a receipt is sent

• Only when the payment is authorised. A refused or failed payment sends no receipt.
• Once per payment. Captures, cancellations and refunds of the payment do not send another receipt.
• After 3D Secure, if the payment needed it. The receipt is sent when the authorisation completes, not when you call /payment.
• Not for zero-amount payments. A 0 amount used to save a card is not a payment, so no receipt is sent even if shopperContact is provided.

Limitations

• Not available on every terminal yet. If your terminal does not support it, the request is rejected with error 2044. Contact support to have it enabled.
• A valid email address is required. An invalid address is rejected with error 2004, and the payment is not attempted.
• culture must be is or en when a receipt is asked for. Any other value is rejected with error 2008. Without shopperContact, culture is ignored.
